Elena Amodeo, LMT #16410, began her interest in massage therapy after receiving her first massage in 1989. She had always been interested in health and the genius of the body. With a degree in Health Sciences from Northeastern University in Boston, and after 15 years in a hospital setting, she made the decision to pursue a more alternative route.
She graduated from Carolina School of Massage Therapy in 1992 and soon thereafter took another 2 years to understand the energy patterns within the body by studying Polarity Therapy. The two complimented each other well in her sessions. An intro class to Craniosacral Therapy “wowed” her, so off to Boulder she went to study until graduating in 2000. Including the brain and nervous system now in her work felt complete. Her education has been a metaphor of her own personal process. Each new branch of study, brought her deeper into her own complexity, traumas, awareness and healing.
She lived in South Lake Tahoe, Ca for 11 years, kicking off her career there at the Massage School, teaching a variety of classes. She owned a practice for 6 years, where she worked with outdoor enthusiasts, though she worked closely with fibromyalgia patients, HIV patients, teens, infants, pre-natal, and specific injuries. Since moving to Eugene, Oregon in 2009, she substitute taught a few classes at the LCC massage program, and has become an established practitioner with About Touch beginning in 2010. She also had the privilege to work on Cirque du Soleil performers. She delights in witnessing the relief that is achieved in each session.
Chelsea Heath, LMT #12078 and Certified Rolfer, has been practicing bodywork for the past ten years. She has extensive training in myofascial release and structural analysis, and has received her Rolfing SI® license from the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration at Boulder Colorado. Her experience and training facilitates a deeper connection to the levels of “self”, blending accurate, gentle and effective release. Chelsea’s focus is on addressing the underlying cause of symptoms, improving self correction and increased self awareness. One’s attention is turned inward throughout the session, increasing vitality and the ability to live comfortably in the body.
